Origami

One of my hobbies is Origami, the ancient Japanese art of paper-folding. It is usually done with square paper. One of my favorite things to fold is a Crane. I've made well over 1,000 of them by now.

In particular, I like making miniature origami cranes. It requires a bit of manual dexterity and fingernails, so it's definitely not something I'd suggest for a beginner. But the mini-ones are just so cool! The one in the picture was made on green shiny origami paper, cut to just over an inch in size. After folding, the crane is just about the size of a penny, and yes, that image is to scale, not digitally altered!

So now if you are feeling inspired to learn how fold a crane, look online for a site like http://www.pro.or.jp/~fuji/origami/howto/tsuru-eng.html with detailed instructions.
